Gisela Di Meglio is PhD Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic Analysis II at the Complutense University of Madrid. She is also a Council member of the European Association for Research on Services (RESER). She has been a visiting scholar at the Science and Technology Policy Research Unit (University of Sussex, United Kingdom) and a research fellow at the University of Alcalá (Spain) and at the Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina). Her research interests include structural change, economic growth and development, productivity, competitiveness and efficiency of services.

She has worked on several research projects financed by the Commission of the European Communities and different Spanish public institutions. At present, she is the main researcher of a project granted by the Ramón Areces Foundation that investigates the role of the services sector as an engine for economic growth in developing countries. She is author of a number of refereed articles, reports and book chapters.
