David Gago is currently Lecturer of Political Economy at the Universidad CEU-San Pablo. Expert in service innovation (education in particular and prospective). He has worked as public policy advisor, especially those related to innovation and Information Society.

David has acted as external consultant at the World Bank (2014-2015) involved in innovation & competitiveness through services based projects for Latin America. Formerly he was Director of Analysis and Prospective at the Fundación Centro Superior para la Enseñanza Virtual (CSEV) (2011-2014), where he experienced first hand the main developments of technology impacts in the education sector (e.g. MOOCS).

Before that, he worked for the private sector as strategic consultant and researcher (2002-2008) and as lecturer at CEU-Luis Vives (2001-2002).

David holds a PhD (Hon. & European Mention) at the University of Alcalá, MsC in Economics (University of Warwick), and degree in Economics at the University of Alcalá, where he was awarded the Prize of Excellence for class 1993/97. He also won the XI Victor Mendoza Prize for the Best Thesis (Instituto de Estudios Económicos). He is author of more than 25 publications both at national and international level in the fields of innovation in services, education and technology and ICT impacts.
